This was a pretty enjoyable, quick YA read. I liked it well enough and will most likely continue on with the rest of the series. (The cliffhanger ending pretty much guarantees it, right?)
I only have one real gripe about this book. It basically feels like Rachel Caine wrote this entire book in first person, and then went back and changed all the pronouns. Technically it's third person, but it reaad so much like a first person book that every time Caine called the main character by name, it took me by surprise and I had to say "Oh yeah."
We did not get any further insight by it being in third person - the entire thing is from Claire's POV. There was no reason for it not be in first person and it really threw me. It was weird. I wish she had just gone ahead and written it in first person.
